CSAR Specifications

  • 750m2 controlled environment building, plus separate primary quarantine facility
  • Ozone-sterilised water intake and discharge
  • Centralised air- and water temperature control: programmable 12-27oC
  • Freshwater to full strength seawater
  • Programmable lighting – light intensity, photoperiod
  • Electronic security control to all areas
  • All life support systems monitored and alarmed
  • Full electrical backup via 500 kVa generator

Two industry grade Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS)

  • Each system 60 m3 volume, water circulation rate to 100 m3 per h
  • 5% system volume exchange per day, at 15kg / m3 biomass
  • Oxygen, ozone and pH control and monitoring
  • All rearing tanks adjustable for fish / shellfish; equipped with swirl separators for uneaten feed & faeces collection

            RAS A –

  • 30 x 1.4 m diameter rearing tanks (1.5 m3 operating volume)

            RAS B –

  • 9 x 1.4 m diameter rearing tanks, (1.5 m3 operating volume)
  • 12 x 1.9 m diameter rearing tanks (3.6 m3 operating volume)

  • Self-contained RAS
  • 16 x 300 L spawning tanks
  • 18 x 30 L trials aquaria

Pilot-commercial scale live feeds production
  • 1000 L / day microalgae
  • 12 x 800 L rotifer tanks
  • 6 x 800 L Artemia tanks
  • 6 x 1,200 L copepod tanks
  • 400L Photo-Bioreactor (Biofence TM)
